A fan
favorite, Deborah has the distinction of being one of the original
Solid Gold Dancers! She appeared on the show's two-hour "Solid Gold
Special" before it became a series! When the show first aired as
a series in 1980, Deborah was there and stayed with the show through
the 1984 season. Deborah also was a dancer on "Solid Gold Hits,"
a half-hour summer show in 1984.
Before
Solid Gold, Deborah appeared as a dancer on numerous TV specials,
including an Olivia Newton-John Special, three Barry Manilow specials,
the American Music Awards and Grammy Awards. She appeared in the
Olivia Newton- John movie "Xanadu" as a dancer, and had the opportunity
to perform as a back- up singer and dancer for Tina Turner's "American
Tour."
After
Solid Gold, Deborah was busy on film, television and the stage!
She appeared in the John Travolta movie "Staying Alive" as his character's
co- worker, Margaret. She also was featured as a dancer in the TV
shows "Airwolf," "Entertainment Tonight," and the "Miss Teen USA"
and "Miss USA" pageants. Deborah wowed audiences on stage in "James
Brown Live in Concert."
Deborah
choreographed two fitness videos - Ray Boom-Boom Mancini's "Knockout
Workout" and Lou Ferrigno's "Body Perfection" - and was featured
in "The 5-Day Solid Gold Workout."
Singing
is one of Deborah's biggest interests! She enjoys singing in clubs
and covering the tunes of artists like Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan,
Heart and Lisa Stanfield. When Deborah was in Europe for 4 1/2 years,
she landed a record contract and recorded a couple of disco-dance
singles in Milano. She also toured Italy with her band - the Deborah
Jenssen Band!
